Dear Friends,
As the year comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on what success truly means.
2024 brought incredible growth to both The 2x2 and our consulting business, Keenan Reid Strategies. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who made it possible.
To me, success is simple: it’s about serving others.
And I believe that’s what we did with The 2x2 this year – help more consultants by providing insights and stories to help them further their career.
Through The 2x2, we delivered 52 issues in 2024, sharing insights and strategies to help consultants thrive – never missing a week, even amidst client work, travel, and our Head of Operation’s maternity leave.
Every issue was written to bring you value, but let me talk about some of my favorite pieces:
First is Our Guide to Marketing Consulting Services – which talks about one of the biggest challenges for indie consultants and how my 10 years of learning might be useful for you.
When I first started out as a business of one, I didn’t have the perfect plan to build a seven-figure consultancy. But as I looked back at what I was doing, I saw a pattern that can help other consultants build a sustainable referral-driven and service-oriented practice.
Second is my interview with Terry Chevalier. It’s packed with his insights that many consultants will find valuable – from figuring out your niche as you start independent consulting to engaging your audience with a newsletter paired with personal outreach.
Lastly, we have Do You Know How Your Kids Are Losing Their Money? – the last piece I co-wrote with my stepson, Sajan. It was such a fun piece to write, and it gave me a reason to take a little detour and visit the DraftKings SportsBook in Chicago.
Looking ahead, I hope to deliver even more valuable content to support your journey.
On the KRS side – our consulting business and the heart of what we do – we helped clients tackle complex challenges.
And I feel good about the work we’ve done helping them in key areas.
We helped a client transform from having no visibility into their financial transactions to gaining clear insight, control over their business performance, and a plan for healthy and sustainable success.
We also helped leaders with broad responsibilities but limited bandwidth focus on their most critical priorities. By acting as thought partners, we supported them clarifying their vision, aligning their organizations, and driving initiatives that transformed customer experiences.
Our clients’ trust inspires us, and that same spirit fuels our mission to help consultants find impactful work.
This year, KRS also helped more consultants balance family commitments, navigate career transitions, and find meaningful roles. We’re not just a platform; we’re a community where lives are changed by the right match at the right time.
Whether it was helping someone take on a full-time role or gain the flexibility to care for their kids or health, these stories remind us why we do what we do.
As we welcome the new year, I want to thank you for being an essential part of our journey.
Your trust and collaboration mean so much, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together in the year ahead.
