2025 Resolutions for Consultants Who Mean Business

Ready to rule 2025?

As consultants, we’re already pros at creating strategies – for everyone else. But are you confident in your career’s game plan?

If the answer’s no, let’s change that.

Y’all are going to own it in 2025 with these 10 no BS resolutions: 

1. Raise Your Rates: You’ve earned it so stop leaving money on the table. 

2. Make 100 calls: Aim to make 100 calls within your network before May 1st. 

3. Learn to Say No: Not every project is worth your magic. Choose wisely. 

4. Track Your Time Better: You’ll be shocked where some of it goes. 

5. Set Clear Boundaries: No more 11PM emails. No more “quick calls” on weekends. 

6. Refresh Your Toolkit: Find a new tool or system that actually saves you time. 

7. Fix Your LinkedIn: If it’s gathering dust, then it’s time to refresh. 

8. Celebrate Every Win: Stop skipping the champagne. All wins are worth it. 

9. Diversify Your Income: Turn your expertise into passive income. 

10. Reconnect With Your Network: Your next big move might be sitting in your DMs.

2024, Wrapped: How We Grew Together

What does your yearend recap look like?

2024 is indeed a year to remember. As it winds down, let’s look back at the milestones we’ve achieved this year: 

🌱 Our Biggest Growth Yet 

• Our consulting firm, Keenan Reid Strategies, grew >60% this year, with the addition of new staff members and consultants. 

• Our KRS consultant network also increased 5 times, as more consulting rockstars joined. 

📬 News About Our Newsletter 

• This year, we published 52 issues of The 2x2 – bringing value to more fractional executives and indie consultants. Stay tuned for more meaningful and interesting content in 2025. 

•  We also partnered with Fast Company to publish an interview about The Great Fractionalization. Read the full article here. 

🌟 Some Personal Achievements 

• Big news: we opened an industrials practice area. This is dedicated to my love of businesses that make actual stuff. 

• I completed 77 Pilates sessions this year. Turns out, core strength is handy when holding it all together – clients, consultants, and cheese fries included. 

We received so much love and positive feedback about our newsletter. Next year, we plan to continue our growth at this foundation – serving more clients and consultants.

What’s Ahead in 2025?

One thing about me is that I love telling people what I think. Maybe too much.

They’re (mostly) fun and there’s a sense of validation when I get them right.

And so, here’s how I think 2025 will go: 

• There won’t be much change in the economy at all. Everyone’s predicting how it will get so much better or worse, but I think it’s a status quo. What you see is what you get. 

• This won’t be the year when AI will make a material difference. I think we’re still 3-5 years away from AI affecting people’s jobs in the economy. The capability and level of embeddedness that the tech has to have within businesses aren’t there yet. 

• Elon Musk is going to get sick of politics. He will move on to the next thing – which I have no clue what will be either. 

• The Houston Rockets are going to win the NBA championship. Betting pools might say otherwise, but I have faith in my favorite team. 

• Keenan Reid Strategies will grow by 125%. This will surprise me most of all when it happens.
